ATextEditor does not collect any data about you.
That is the whole policy. The rest of this page only explains what it means and how you can check it.
No data is collected
The app has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no accounts, no sign-in and no tracking of any kind. Nothing about you or your use of the app is recorded, transmitted or shared with anyone, including the author.
No network connections
ATextEditor never connects to the internet. It contains no networking code at all, and the Mac App Store version is additionally sandboxed without any network permission, so the operating system would refuse such a connection even if one were attempted.
There is no update check, no licence check and no telemetry.
Where your files stay
Everything stays on your Mac.
Files you open and save stay wherever you put them. The app only reaches files you have chosen yourself through the open or save panel.
Unsaved work and the list of open tabs are kept in the folder ~/Library/Application Support/ATextEditor on your own machine.
Preferences are stored by macOS in the usual per-app location.
Nothing is written to iCloud or any other remote service. This is deliberate and is the reason the app exists.
Third parties
There are none. The app bundles no third-party libraries, SDKs or services.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, children included.
Changes
Should this policy ever change, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
