2. Overview
Noticer is a purely local application for keeping short notes and annotations. All data you enter into Noticer is stored exclusively on your device. No transmission to the developer, to servers of the developer or to third parties takes place.
3. Which data is processed?
The developer of the app does not process any personal data whatsoever.
Within the app, the following data is stored locally on your device:
- the notes you record, together with their creation timestamp
- the annotations you add to a note, together with their creation timestamp
This data resides in a local SQLite database inside your device's private app directory and is accessible only to the Noticer app.
4. Data transmission
The app does not open any network connections for the purpose of processing data. There is neither a backend nor cloud synchronisation, nor any telemetry or analytics functionality. No cookies and no trackers are used.
5. Data export and disclosure
The app offers the option of manually exporting your notes and annotations as a CSV or JSON file. The export is triggered by an explicit user action. The resulting file is provided through your operating system's sharing function; you decide yourself whether and with which applications (e.g. e-mail, messenger, cloud storage) you pass the file on.
The developer receives no copy of exported files.
6. Permissions
The app requests no sensitive Android runtime permissions (neither location, contacts, camera, microphone, nor comparable ones). To access the sharing function, only the regular system dialogs of the operating system are used.
7. Deletion of your data
As your data resides exclusively on your device, you have two ways of removing it:
- deleting individual annotations or removing a note directly in the app (provided such a function is offered at the time of use)
- uninstalling the app or clearing the app data in the Android system settings: all local data is thereby irrevocably removed
8. Legal basis
As no personal data is transmitted to the developer or to third parties, no processing of personal data within the meaning of the GDPR is carried out by the developer. The legal bases under Art. 6 GDPR therefore do not apply; responsibility for the content stored locally on your device lies exclusively with you.
9. Data subject rights
Irrespective of the above, you are in principle entitled to the following rights under the GDPR: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), objection (Art. 21) as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Austria: the Austrian Data Protection Authority, https://www.dsb.gv.at).
As no personal data is processed by the developer, the rights under Art. 15–20 GDPR generally cannot be exercised against the developer, simply because no data exists to which they could relate.
10. Changes to this privacy policy
In the event of functional extensions or changes to data processing, this policy will be updated accordingly. The current version is available at the address linked in the Play Store.
